**Responsibilities**

**OVERVIEW**
The News Desk Assistant Producer is an essential team member in our newsroom, ensuring CNBC offers world-class content on global business and finance through guest interviews.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Pursue first or exclusive interviews with news makers and market movers in the world of business and finance
- Researching topics and summarizing findings for producers & presenters
- Identifying and pitching key stories and editorial themes
- Write compelling interview pitches to guests, news headlines and interview articles
- Build a robust list of contacts and sources in governments and corporations across APAC region
- Field-producing polished and professional outside broadcast.
- Collaborate with show teams to develop live segments by finding and securing compelling guests for the show
- Communicate effectively with show teams, Senior Producers and News Editors, Anchors, and Operations teams regarding guest interviews
- Collaborate with digital and social teams on joint stories and production efforts

**Qualifications/Requirements**

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
- Prior experience in or track record of securing major or exclusive business and political interviews is essential
- Possessing contacts across Asia Pacific region’s business community and/or governments would be advantageous
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under the demands of daily live shows
- Strong knowledge in global markets would be advantageous
- A team player who displays flexibility to work varied hours depending on business needs
- An openness to develop and learn new skills, with long-term aspirations to progress your career within NBCUniversal’s award winning News Group
- Fluency in English is essential, additional languages advantageous
