The Legal team is responsible for all legal and compliance aspects of Carousell's operations across all countries where Carousell has a local presence including Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar and Vietnam. This role will be a headquarters role covering multiple markets.

This role will report to the Legal Director.

**You will**:

- Draft, review and advise on commercial contracts (including confidentiality agreements and programmatic advertising agreements)
- Provide assistance to local business units, including drafting of various terms and conditions for campaigns, events and new product features.
- Support government relations outreach to legislators and regulatory agencies
- Further develop, maintain and update internal newsletters, educational material, legal systems and records
- Provide support and assistance to maintain a high standard of corporate governance.
- Provide support and assistance to maintain a high standard of data protection policies and practices
- Maintaining and filing corporate records, including resolutions, board of director changes, annual reports, etc
- Assist with various aspects of corporate secretarial work and oversee required regulatory filings.

**You have**:

- Common law qualified lawyer, with 3 - 4 years PQE, with relevant experience in top-tier law firms and/or in-house legal departments, including at least 2 years of experience as counsel covering Hong Kong and Taiwan
- Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of general commercial contracts
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn and grow with the business
- A particular interest and broad knowledge of e-commerce, consumer technology, convenience and shipping
- Our users at heart
- Experience in fast-evolving and dynamic industries like e-commerce, with legal experience in regulatory, TMT, IP, data privacy, M&A, and consumer protection related issues
- Able to work independently and in a team, with initiative to seek guidance as necessary
- Immediately available or on a short-term notice (1 month)
