Algorithm Operations Lead, Trust

As Algorithm Operations Lead, you will be responsible for managing and leading a model training team to ensure accurate and efficient detection of unsafe visuals. You will work closely with the algorithm engineering team, the data labelling team and business lines to understand appropriate cultural context and algorithm requirements for decision making. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality and relevancy of input into the model which will impact the wellbeing of our users.
Overall, the Trust & Safety team at TikTok aims to identify and solve problems impacting the safety and integrity of our products so as to safeguard our global community. This team employs technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across our platform. It consists of employees who work hard to promote trust in our platform and ensure the highest levels of user safety.
**Responsibilities**
1. Lead your team in liaising with business and engineering stakeholders to provide direction and construct model training roadmaps.
2. Proactively identify and solve collaboration and workflow challenges. 3. Coach, grow and motivate the team in pursuing excellence, both in daily work and career progression.
4. Create culturally appropriate labelling standards and work with data labelling team to obtain large amounts of content for model training. Conduct training sessions for the data labelling team.
5. Ensure the quality and relevancy of content inputs and continuously optimize the model training data. Cooperate with algorithm engineers to train, evaluate and deploy the models online.
**Qualifications**
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent (preferably in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science and Engineering).
2. Basic knowledge of AI model training (Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Optical Character Recognition, and Audio) and content moderation.
3. Knowledge of machine learning operation systems.
4. Experience in leading a team.
5. Awareness and familiarity of social media platforms; sensitive to safety-related content. 6. Good communication skills, and enjoy working with diverse teams globally.
