**Job brief**:
The Senior Legal Counsel will have responsibility for providing legal advice in support of a fast-growing SEA business in developing rooftop solar projects. This role will be based in Singapore.

**Responsibilities**:

- Overall responsibility to anticipate and manage the legal risks connected with the overall business strategy and operations in the SEA jurisdictions in which the business operates. The jurisdictions in which we operate in are Cambodia, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam (“SEA Jurisdictions”).
- Negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements and other agreements (such as supply or land purchase agreements), and overseeing compliance with these agreements.
- Advising on the legal aspects of debt financings and agreements with debt and equity investors.
- Advising on the legal aspects (as it relates to SEA Jurisdictions) on Board and Executive Committee matters, insurance, ethical and governance issues, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Advising on regulatory (federal and state) and local legal issues in the SEA Jurisdictions.
- This role will report to the General Counsel who will be based in Mumbai. A junior legal counsel based out of Indonesia reports to this role.

**Requirements**:

- Industry specific experience in solar development, especially on rooftop and working with Commercial and Industrial customers, will be highly attractive
- Strong written and communication skills in relation to both legal and commercial issues and ability to lead leading complex and significant legal and commercial negotiations
- Ability to deliver high-quality work under deadlines and work independently
- Excellent critical and legal reasoning skills, supported by a solution-oriented mindset
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization
