**School Gardener**

**Contract Period**:
1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026

**Address**:
Punggol Field, Singapore

**Working Hours**
- Mondays to Thursdays: 8:00am to 5:30pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
- Fridays: 8:00am to 5:00pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays

**Scope of Services**

The personnel will be required to perform the following duties:
**Gardening and Plant Care**
- Maintain planted and potted plants (including corridor planters) through watering, pruning, fertilising, mulching, and weeding.
- Care for seedlings and transplant them into potted plants within the school premises.
- Carry out plant transplanting as required for both indoor and outdoor use.
- Monitor the health of all plants and troubleshoot issues.
- Manage pest control to prevent damage to plants and seedlings.

**System and Facility Maintenance**
- Troubleshoot and repair minor issues in the automatic irrigation system, including replacing batteries or components.
- Maintain the school’s aquaponics system, including preparing grow beds, planting suitable crops, and monitoring plant growth.

**Support for Teaching and Learning**
- Assist teachers in setting up, planting, and maintaining portable Vegepod container gardening beds for growing vegetables and herbs.
- Advise and support the planning and upkeep of thematic gardens such as the herb garden and fruit orchard.
- Share simple gardening knowledge and skills with students, where required.

**Other Duties**
- Undertake any other gardening-related tasks assigned by the School Management.

**Qualifications and Skills**

**Skills**:

- Basic horticultural knowledge, including plant care, soil types, and nutrients.
- Practical gardening skills such as seed starting, vegepod/container gardening, transplanting, mulching, pest management, pruning, and watering.
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain auto-irrigation systems.
- Basic aquaponics knowledge and skills.
- Good communication skills to support teachers and engage students.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

**Experience**:

- Preferably at least 3 years of gardening experience in growing flowers and herbs in commercial settings (e.g., offices, schools).
- Prior gardening experience in a school environment will be an advantage.

**Job Type**: Contract
Contract length: 36 months

Pay: $1,204.78 - $3,000.00 per month

**Education**:

- Lower Secondary Qualification (preferred)

**Experience**:
