**Job Summary**

The Senior Manager Terminal Procurement plays an important role in ensuring that a company operates terminal cost effectively, and sustainability, while also managing risks and fostering strong vendor relationships. You are expected to execute effective procurement strategies to negotiate better rates and terms and conditions with marine and terminal vendors, driving cost reductions, and continuously improving the company’s operational cost per teu by accessing the vendors’ performance, service & quality and leveraging vendors expertise for the company. This person will also involve in identifying any cost saving opportunities within the functions, including evaluating, tightening operations waste and control costs in the cost operation environment, and also through influences for cross-functional collaboration and understand the deliverables & execute for savings. The Senior Manager is required to u_nderstand procurement practices & principles include sustainability criteria, ensure that the marine and terminal procured procedure for managing contracts and vendors relationships and performance are comply and are align with corporate social responsibility objective within the company._

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Strategic Procurement**- Develop and implement procurement strategies, formulate and execute procurement strategies for terminals, including negotiating with global terminal operators
- Vendor relationship management, cultivate and manage relationships with vendors to ensure optimal performance, compliance, and cost effectiveness
- Identify, implement and conduct market intelligence and analysis to identify potential suppliers and their capabilities
- Identify best practices & trends across regions and keep constant abreast on the terminal developments and competitions
- Engage & identify internal stakeholders to understand the network and service requirements and ensure alignment.
- **Supplier and Risk Management**- Evaluate constant performance reviews of terminal vendors to ensure quality and reliability, including conducting audit checks on site
- Ensure adequate resource allocation for the vessels in the terminals
- Identify inefficiencies and assess potential operation risk by terminals that are not align with the services level agreement and code of conduct
- Ensure procurement activities comply with industry regulations and company policies
- To be familiar with the local regulations to mitigate risks associated with procurement activities
- **Sustainability Procurement**- To be familiar with the approaches & company policies on sustainable procurement which may directly or indirectly affect meeting the score cards
- Identify and support improvements in the existing procure process while also considering sustainable developments and practices that contribute positively to the company in the procurement process
- **Cost Efficiency**- Regular review the areas of focus, include joint efforts to with local Ops lead to identify cost efficiency initiatives
- Prioritize and reduce on non-essential costs through internal streamline or external partnering with vendorsIdentify system/process misalignments to streamline, including driving behavioral to drive cost standardization

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree from recognised institutions, preferably in shipping or logistics.
- Minimum 6 years of working experience in related industry would be preferred.
- Good knowledge of the maritime industry.
- Prior working experience in terminal is a plus.
- Prior leadership experience in managing a team.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Possess strong analytical skills, negotiation skills, problem solving skills and effective communication skills.
