Senior Assistant Manager, Laboratory Services

Established in 1981, the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE)
is one of the founding Schools of the Nanyang Technological University. Built on a culture of excellence, the School is renowned for its high academic standards and research. It is one of the largest EEE schools in the world, with more than 120 faculty members and an enrolment of more than 4,000, of which about 1,000 are graduate students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative/technical support for all laboratory users.- Procurement for laboratory teaching and research labs.- Asset management and maintaining proper records for inventory auditing.- Support all assigned laboratory teaching classes.- GPU Cluster Management: administer, configure, and maintain a GPU cluster.- System Monitoring: monitor hardware status and troubleshooting/recovering.- User Support: handle resource enquiries from students and help with technical issues.- Security: ensure safe usage of systems and performance regular system updates.- Assist the Safety Committee on laboratory safety matters.- Perform any other duties as assigned by the school.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering- Minimum 5 years of working experience is preferred- Good command of common clustering framework, e.g., Kubernetes, Slurm- Proficiency in Linux/Unix OS- Familiar with NVIDIA software libraries and common deep learning libraries- Reasonable scripting skills for further automation,.e.g., Web UI. is a plus- Experience in risk management, workplace safety and health (i.e. ISO 45001) is a plus- Good knowledge of laboratory operation, processes and procedure- Good understanding of lab safety rules- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
