Contract Manager

Contract Managers oversee projects performed in partnership between one organization and another. They are responsible for coordinating every aspect of the project from reviewing and approving contract terms to coordinating deadlines, approving budgets for the construction project and more.
Contract Managers often hold a bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, but employers may overlook this requirement if someone has extensive relevant experience. The most successful Contract Managers have exceptional time management skills, strong attention to detail, and are strong leaders.
Contract Managers seek to minimise costs while adhering to the required standards and policies. They keep track of the progression of the contract with regards to any variations. Good communication and negotiation skills are needed for discussion with stakeholders. They are responsible for enhancing the overall value of the project while keeping to the standards and policies. They are office-based and will go on several site visits.
**Job Description**:
- Contract managers need to lead or manage a team of Quantity Surveyors in the administration and review of procurement and contract management
- Review contract documents and provide cost estimates on tenders
- Prepare and monitor project cost budget, cash flow for the project, track changes in design/construction work, variations and adjust budget projections accordingly
- Oversee and manage main contract progress claim and subcontract payment including variation claim
- Resolving contract disputes and contract claims, assessing entitlement for extension of time and loss/expense claim
- Able to independently lead/manage a large-scale project
- Manage record keeping for all contract-related correspondences and documentation
- Communicate contract-related information to all stakeholders
- Ensure timely finalization of main and subcontract
Requirement for Contract Manager:
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of legal terminology
- Comfortable working as part of a multidimensional team
- Exemplify a strong attention to detail
- Possesses superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines
- Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD & Cubicost.
- Previous experience working with contract regulations the related laws is strongly preferred
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Capable of professionally managing confidential information
- Exemplify creative problem-solving abilities
