This is an exciting opportunity for a Financial Lines underwriter or underwriting analytics/actuarial professional looking to move into underwriting to work within our dynamic and inclusive team in Singapore. To be successful in this role you will have underwriting experience in D&O, FIPI, IMI and Financial Crime and already have an established profile and network. This is an active contributor role for an individual with a strong desire and willingness to develop a profitable book of business.

Core Responsibilities:

- To drive profitable growth in accordance with Everest’s strategic direction and business plans.
- Underwrite in compliance with Everest prescribed underwriting standards and guidelines.
- Liaise with the Claims Manager on claims related issues & product development.
- Monitor and keep abreast of changes in underwriting, regulation and compliance.
- Update and maintain records, schedules and statistics.
- Represent Everest at internal and external meetings with brokers, clients and other customers / stakeholders as required
- Business travel as required to support the above objectives, and the appropriate management of T&E expenses

Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Banking or Finance, Actuarial Science or related discipline will be an advantage.
- Demonstrated underwriting ability and technical competence as evidenced by a minimum of 2 years professional experience
- Working experience within the Financial Lines landscape in the Asian region
- Ability to stay organized in a fast paced and high intensity work environment with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks
- Team player with open mindset
- Willing to take initiative, function independently and be entrepreneurial with the highest standards of ethics and professionalism
- Strong attention to detail
- The desire and capability to coach and develop junior underwriters on insurance, products, concepts and practices
- Existing relationships with brokers handling business in the targeted segments
- Strong interpersonal skills as well as strong verbal and written communication
