About the role
As an Operation Planning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our logistics activities in Singapore. You will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of the operation planning, from demand forecasting to load versus capacity planning at different time horizons (strategical, tactical, operational). Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be crucial in optimizing our operations, reducing costs, and enhancing customer satisfaction through seamless collaboration with our customer, our operations managers, and our freight team
**Requirements**:
What you will be doing
- **Demand Forecasting**: Collaborate closely with customers and cross-functional teams to gather data and forecast demand accurately. Use forecasting tools (including AI algorithms) and historical data to predict future demand trends and plan operations accordingly
- **Load versus Capacity Planning**: Work in tandem with operations managers to develop and implement load versus capacity strategies across different time horizons (strategical, tactical & operational). Ensure efficient resource allocation and optimize WH and VAS operations in alignment with customer needs (i.e. Order Lead Time and Service Level Agreements)
- **Production Scheduling**: Collaborate with customer service officers, customer stakeholders, and operations managers to align production schedules with internal deadlines. Minimize production disruptions and delays and maximize resources utilization through effective planning
- **Cost Management**: Identify cost-saving opportunities linked to best-in-class planning in consultation with operations managers while maintaining service quality. Implement initiatives and monitor their effectiveness with a customer-centric approach.
- **Risk Assessment**: Collaborate with operations managers, the freight team, and customers to identify potential capacity risks. Develop contingency plans that prioritize customer satisfaction and proactively address issues that may impact operations
- **Cross-functional Collaboration**: Foster strong collaboration between customers, operations managers, and the freight team. Work closely with various departments to streamline planning processes and enhance overall efficiency with a customer-centric mindset
