The Remanufacturing Process Technology Group also consists of research teams in surface additive and enhancement technology (e.g. cold spray), advanced machining technology and nnovative automation solutions for which individuals may also explore.
The scope of the research engineer includes process development, quality evaluation, engineering design, as well as establishing process monitoring & control and more as described further in the following.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead / Support the technical execution and delivery of projects, including project scoping activities and customer engagement as well as presentations and report writing
- Lead / Support areas of capability development in line with the technical roadmap of the Group and Division, fostering collaboration with other teams / Groups / research entities as needed
- Perform material evaluation (e.g. microstructural and defects analysis) and material testing, as well as the necessary sample preparation for the DED generated parts
- Operate robotic and/or CNC systems for DED and hybrid processes
- Develop customized CAD/CAM modules for advanced toolpath planning in robotic machining and directed energy deposition process (DED) processes.
- Ensure equipment and operators compliance, develop / maintain standard operating procedures, risk assessments and safe working procedures, provide guidance / training as required
- Other secondary roles for the team, Group, Organisation and A*STAR

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- At least a bachelor's degree in Materials Science / Mechanical Engineering, or any relevant discipline.
- Fulfil the requirements for the National Environment Agency (NEA) N3 laser licence
- Knowledge and expertise in directed energy deposition, welding, or additive manufacturing, preferably with prior working experience in any of these areas
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM/CAE software, preferably in Siemens NX / Solidworks / PowerMill
- Proficiency and/or knowledge in programming such as G-code, Python, MatLab, C++, etc.
- Preferably with experience working in an industry-driven R&D environment
- Strong communication and excellent writing skills
