**Therapy Assistant (Occupational Therapy)**

**Job Description**:
With specific instructions from the Occupational Therapist, carry out all therapeutic activities for residents and/or clients independently, in partnership with other Therapy Assistant staff and/or with the Physiotherapist, Music Therapist, individually or in groups, including:

- Collect residents’ life stories to collaboratively create personalised occupational therapy plans and prepare a quarterly activity calendar, shared with all departments for coordination.
- Work with Occupational Therapists to source, organise and prepare all necessary equipment, materials and resources—through purchase or donations—for smooth delivery of planned therapeutic activities.
- Deliver activity trolleys to designated locations—including common areas, Care Rooms, garden and external spaces, the ground floor Club and identified residents’ bedsides—ensuring they are ready for use.
- Prepare residents for activities by assisting with transfers to wheelchairs or chairs, escorting them to and from activity sites and appropriately readying those participating in bedside sessions.
- Under the direction of Occupational Therapists, facilitate activities—independently or with other staff—at various activity points, ensuring all steps are performed correctly and efficiently to meet key performance indicators.
- Clean and tidy all activity trolleys and activity points after activities by packing up, sanitising and cleaning equipment and materials as needed and returning trolleys to their designated storage areas.
- Work with Occupational Therapists to evaluate the impact of activities on residents by conducting observational assessments, analysing findings and identifying ways to achieve positive outcomes.
- Perform housekeeping duties in collaboration with Occupational Therapists by maintaining and updating inventories, monitoring and replenishing equipment, materials, linen, stationery, sundries, ensuring all procurement and stock management processes are properly followed.
- Plan and execute daily and annual cleaning and sanitising of therapy equipment, materials, resources, storage areas, following proper standard procedures.
- Ensure all therapy equipment, materials and resources are correctly stored, tagged and labelled in an orderly manner within therapy storage areas.
- Documenting all activity attendances, in the correct manner, whether in written or electronic form of all residents and/or clients.
- Participate in departmental projects by attending committee meetings, contributing ideas, feedback and fulfilling assigned responsibilities during event days.

Key Requirements:

- Minimum of GCE N Levels with a pass in English
- Compassionate nature with the desire to serve the elderly and children
- A team player with good interpersonal and communications skills
- The ability to speak and understand a minimum of at least 1 of the following:
Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, Hindi, Teochew, Hokkien, Cantonese, Hakka, Hainanese
