ABOUT THE ROLE

Deputy General Manager

A newly created department to lead and expand business development and activities in the Asia region.

Reporting to: COO APAC / GM Business Development

Team Members: 3

JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent has the leadership role for overall for the business development for investment opportunities across the APAC region and in the industry of Foodstuff and Chemical. This may include business planning, budgeting, forecasting, business acumen for new business development and opportunities, relationship building and strong negotiation skills.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work actively with the business units for new business opportunities and investments.
- Conduct business development meetings or activities with business team
- leads across various departments such as Chemical, Foodstuff, Infrastructure, Healthcare, Aviation, Automobile, Retail and Energy.
- Manage projects and investments. Conduct due diligence, engaging related department in interest, monitor and control the schedule for the smooth operation.
- Frequent business trips of up to 40% -in a month is required, to - countries where projects / investments are located. Possibility of relocation to countries within Asia.
- Gathering information, preparation of materials, and related information necessary with regards to market intelligence, new investment and business opportunities for meetings on a daily basis.
- Formulate business strategies of countries in Asia based on the macroeconomic environment, market / industry trends, political trends. Business strategies are to be reviewed constantly and revised as necessary.
- Execute business strategies aligned with corporate policies involving international industry trends, market analysis considerations, and facts to support the Tokyo head quarter’s decisions.

JOB SPECIFICATION
- Degree from a recognized university preferably in Business Administration related field.
- A minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience within the industry such as chemical, food, infrastructure, energy and mineral resources with at least 5 years of leadership role and project management experience to lead business development and various tasks in cross border investments and business.
- Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 or equivalent is required as documentation and reporting on investment will be in Japanese for Japan HQ to evaluate.
- Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A minimum of 5 years of leadership role and project management experience to lead business development and various tasks in cross border investments and business.
