**What the role is**
The ComCare and Social Support Division (CSSD) oversees policy, operations policy and service development matters for low-income and vulnerable groups. This includes Financial Assistance policies; Children and Family development policies, including Student Care, Family Services; and social support for vulnerable elderly, the homeless and destitute persons.
The Child and Family Development Branch develops national policies, social service policies, and intervention models to support low-income and vulnerable families and children. These include financial assistance schemes for low-income children and families, and support programmes and services for vulnerable families. The branch also works with service providers to operationalise service models and enhance relevant competencies and capabilities of these initiatives and programmes, such as Family Service Centres.
**What you will be working on**
The Senior Executive will report to the Assistant Director and oversee the formulation and review of policies and operational policies to strengthen upstream support for low-income and vulnerable families with children. You will gain an appreciation of the existing landscape of support for vulnerable families and children; explore greenfield areas in supporting them, including the conceptualisation and evaluation of pilots or new models; and staff inter-agency committees reviewing cross-cutting policy issues concerning vulnerable groups.
The Senior Executive will develop and review policies for low-income and vulnerable families with children, which includes:
- Conceptualising and driving pilots to enhance community support services and functioning of vulnerable families
- Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that implementation is in line with policy objectives.
**What we are looking for**
Functional/Technical Competencies required
- Preferably have relevant work experience in policy work, programme reviews, inter-agency/ stakeholder engagement
Generic Competencies required
- Team player who is able to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders
- Proactive and resourceful individual with a ‘can do’ spirit, who is able to work independently
- Be self-driven and able to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
