Lead Product Design and Automation Engineer

**Responsibilities**:

- Taking a lead role in creative workshops, generating and visualising your own ideas and those of the team around you
- Production of detailed drawings and manufacturing specifications
- Transfer of designs to manufacture through liaison with external suppliers
- Spending time at design partners and manufacturing sites, acting as the liaison between the company, the design team and the manufacturer to ensure realisation of products
- Troubleshooting manufacturing problems
- Helping develop manufacturing cost models, and iterating this throughout the design process
- Advising design teams on the most suitable manufacturing processes

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- Bachelor degree or Diploma in engineering, industrial design, or mechanics tertiary program
- Minimum 8 years relevant working experience in product Design and Development
- Strong in computer aided design, or CAD. Should be comfortable with taking ideas from a conceptual level through detail design
- Able to multi-task well and manage Automation systems project
- Able to demonstrate innovative past projects through a portfolio or simple case studies
- Comfortable in structural analysis, or FEA
- Familiar with design for manufacture, or DFM
