**Your day at NTT DATA**

The Senior Technical Utility Manager oversees the programming, budgeting design and delivery of essential public utility services, such as electricity, gas, water, fiber, and wastewater treatment.
This position guides a team of internal and external stakeholders to establish consensus, assure regulatory compliance, and meet internal NTT corporate goals for reliability, cost, and sustainability. Drawing on extensive expertise in utility engagement practices, the senior manager formulates and maintains utility services delivery plans through final service delivery by utilizing the defined schedules and budgets.

You will play a key role in the site selection and master planning stage with accountability for elements of the technical due diligence process & master planning for new and existing data centres This role will involve inputting into the permitting strategy and compiling and analysing site information to identify any impact / risks on development costs & schedule or present a risk to the operation of the data center.

You will have a strong track record of program management, a demonstrated ability to deliver multiple high priority projects simultaneously and the ability to drive alignment across teams with competing priorities.

You will help develop and promote adoption of best practice process and procedures for utilities planning & site due diligence in the design and engineering, and wider construction and expansion teams.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Overall, the Senior Technical Utility Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of essential public services to our business.
- Owns the NTT program budget for the utility impact to NTT Data Center capital improvement projects.
- Provides due diligence and capacity planning expertise for regional expansion programs.
- Oversees and manages easement acquisition that supports off-site routing.
- Manages electrical utility, project management consultants, and substation contractors for transmission works and substations.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to sustain safety, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
- Manages and leverages relationships with government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Develops and executes energy strategies to reduce long-term energy costs.
- Reports to senior management on program status and provides advice on critical issues and opportunities.
- Establishes strong relationships with all stakeholders through collaboration and superior communication skills.
- Develops and maintains knowledge base of leading industry standards and champions internal adoption for continual improvement
- Provides technical consultation and expertise in the domain of on-site, distributed backup power generation and energy storage.
- Involved in all front-end planning and master planning of new builds in region
- Lead the Technical Due Diligence process for utilities, collaborating with internal stakeholders to guide the expansion of NTT GDC facilities in new and existing regions, by conducting site selection risk analysis and due diligence assessments related to utilities.
- Engage with internal resources and external consultants on power requirements for the sites and ensuring that a clear demonstratable timeline for power is developed as part of the TDD report.
- Work with the construction teams and the consultants to create project specific permitting strategies for utilities.
- Develop the project timeline with an explanatory note against each timeline duration giving the next team in the development lifecycle an understanding of assumptions made.
- Write scope of works for consultants to execute technical assessments and reports.
- Assess proposals and evaluate them for completeness and manage all correspondence and invoices.
- Brief consultants on the sites and the requirements to be executed for a red flag report.
- Act as the primary contact for external consultants and vendors as well as internal stakeholders, involved in technical due diligence processes for utilities.
- Work in conjunction with the associated Investment Manager (owner of the purchase deal) for each site to ensure Utilities TDD delivery is progressing in line with the agreed budget and programme.
- Ensure regular reporting of progress against agreed plans to senior members of Design and Engineering, Delivery and the associated Investment managers.
