Singapore CONNECT AND COMMUNICATE LLP Full time

The Developmental Therapist will work with clients aged 18 months to young adults with diverse learning abilities. They will actively engage their families and teachers, to help students better adapt to their natural environments. Successful applicants will receive training on the job to become ‘developmental social cognitive specialists’. We strive to bring out the best in others, by bringing out the best in us.

**Who is a Developmental Therapist?**

At Connect and Communicate we support kids with differences to learn differently. We do this by respecting neurodiversity and working with their weakness and harnessing their strengths. We work intimately with parents and caregivers, to help kids grow in more well-adjusted ways into their differences not out of it. We do not just manage behaviours and teach skills, we support development in more holistic and integrated ways to help kids become more related thinkers and doers. This is the role of a Developmental Therapist, to develop the functional, social, emotional, cognitive and communicative growth of a child. A developmental therapist will do this by engaging the child around his/ her interests and stretching his developmental capacities within that interaction. A developmental therapist is not merely an educational or behavioural therapist. A developmental therapist presumes competence and identifies strengths to develop development.

- A keen appetite for learning and trying things in new ways
