Regional Category Manager, Greater Asia

Who We Are:
Job Purpose:
You will participate in the development and maintenance of leading-edge global sourcing strategies and appropriate supply base for the assigned category. Develop and maintain regional sourcing strategy as appropriate for the assigned category. Works in close alignment and collaboration with global strategic sourcing managers and implementation associates, ensuring that the business requirements of the region are reflected in strategy and implementation activities.

Main Responsibilities
- Lead the regional category of Packaging Procurement - with over $50Million spend/year and increasing rapidly. It is one of the most important category of direct procurement in Greater Asia.
- Define, Lead and Execute the entire sourcing strategy to operationalization process to deliver the best value for the company across, COST, CASH and SERVICE/QUALITY. Accountable for year-on-year financial impact to assigned category(ies) and its supplier base/relationship development.
- Contribute to the global category teams in the development, communication and approval of sourcing strategies, collecting and providing regional business requirements and regional supply market information and supply practices.
- Ensuring that the regional aspects of category strategy(ies) result in and generate three to five year roadmaps of savings and value streams, and where appropriate, innovation opportunities
- Build a strong rapport from internal stakeholders for assigned category(ies) within the region
- Continually sensing of internal customers and supply markets for changes within the region that may impact the sourcing strategy.
- Contribute to global and conducting regional negotiation planning, negotiation and contracting with suppliers, and ensuring that agreements reflect BD's needs within the region.
- Execute supplier relationship management activities for key assigned suppliers within the region. May contribute to regional supplier management activities for global suppliers.

Job Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in procurement is essential.
- Demonstrated strength in industry penetration, supplier development and negotiation are preferred.
- Experience in direct materials, commodity, packaging and contract manufacturing procurement are preferred.
- Experience in Category strategy development for regional or global.
- Ability to influence without direct authority.
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Japanese language is not essential but will be merit points.
- Experience in cross cultural negotiation and relationship management is essential. Japanese cultural understanding, experience in Japanese supplier development and relationship management will be merit points.
