**About the Team**:
Our global legal team provides key support for all Bytedance’s innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global markets. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The Bytedance Legal Team is growing fast and is seeking highly experienced, bright, and capable legal professionals to join the team. One of the critical challenges is the need for our team to provide exceptional legal support for the Data Privacy and Data Protection matters.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead global review of new products, product features, and other product-related matters to ensure compliance with privacy and data protection laws.
- Coordinate with regional counsel to perform multi-jurisdictional assessments in order to assist with global privacy design and compliance efforts.
- Lead efforts to develop global strategies, standards, and policies for our privacy and data protection practices.
- Collaborate with other legal and product stakeholders to develop creative solutions for novel, complex privacy issues.
- Collaborate with privacy engineering to develop scalable technical privacy solutions.
- Coordinate internal communication, projects, and training amongst different teams (legal, data security, information security, product, business development, monetization, and regional teams).
- Provide support as needed to assist on other company initiatives (new technology implementation, internal policies, and data security efforts).
- Monitor privacy trends across markets to determine trends and issues for the company to address.
- Qualified to practice law and in good standing in Singapore, US, UK, other common law jurisdiction, or EU member state.
- 8+ years of post qualifications experience, with at least 3 years in managing privacy legal and regulatory matters; Internationally recognized data privacy certifications or courses would be advantageous.
- Ability to lead data privacy efforts globally/regionally for a major multinational corporation or advising agency on data privacy issues.
- Experience, and more importantly, personal interest in technology, social media, internet, and all things digital is ideal.
- Comfortable with analyzing products to determine their compliance with applicable data protection regulations and principles.
- Strong problem solving skills and proactive work ethic.
- Determination to face tough challenges in a fast-paced environment while keeping a sense of humor.
