**Team Overview**:
The ESG Research Team commits to delivering exceptional quality ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) data to the Alternatives Investment Industry.

This team member will work closely with our global ESG team as well as those from other departments such as our platform and client management teams to ensure the success and development of Preqin's ESG Module, which will offer a unique opportunity to provide meaningful ESG information to an emerging market of investors with ESG considerations.

**Responsibilities**:
**Role Overview**:
As ESG is an emerging product, the role will be quite dynamic. The daily responsibilities involve data qualify management and management of client enquires.

Data Qualify Management involves the compilation and quality checking of data received from our ESG data collection team, as well as regular discussions with the global ESG Team on how to improve our data standards and methodology. This will involve collaboration with our platform development team as well as our sales and client services teams.

Client enquires management involves handling daily inbound queries by our end-user clients (Funds, Institutional Investors etc) about our ESG data. The ESG Research Associate will need to explain to them our data methodology, answer any uncertainties they have about the data and review then upload any ESG relevant documentation that our clients wish to submit for their organizations’ ESG profile. On an adhoc/project basis, this will also involve collaboration with our insights and analysis teams to produce custom reports and analysis for clients using our ESG datasets.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for ESG data
- Ensure quality management of large data sets collected by our data collection team
- Work collaboratively with the team to create and enforce guidance to maintain best-in-class datasets
- Generate bespoke data requests and contribute to analysis/reports both internally and externally
- Interact with clients
- Strong communication skills to discuss methodology and developments of Sustainability module
- Handle data inquiries, requests, disputes from product users
- Collaborating with our Sales team to ensure streamlined approach with Preqin clients

Qualifications:
**Key Requirements for this Role**:

- Bachelor’s degree required (ESG relevant degree, Economics or Finance specialisation is preferred)
- About 1 year of professional experience, which may be in the form of an internship
- Experience working with large, complex databases preferred.
- Excellent research abilities; exhibiting persistence, patience and a keen eye for detail
- Articulate and able to explain complex methodologies
- Proactive approach to dealing with issues, investigating anomalies and a desire to get to the bottom of a problem
- A collegial work style and a willingness to perform a wide range of tasks
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Detail-oriented, ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
