Singapore DOW CHEMICAL PACIFIC (SINGAPORE) PRIVATE LIMITED Full time

As part of the Southeast Asia growth project initiative, Dow is looking for a sustainability manager to **lead circular plastics initiatives and supply quality management efforts across the Southeast Asia region **. This role would be based in Singapore and have dual reporting to Senior Business Sustainability Director of the Pacakaging & Specialty Plastics business and the regional growth project leader.
- Identify and develop new market segments and business models to accelerate growth for circular plastics.
- Engage various internal stakeholders, including, but not limited to, Government Affairs, Geo leaders, other Sustainability, and business leaders, to ensure strong alignment and drive collaboration.
- Coordinate with existing and new partners from the supply side as needed, including supporting auditing, qualification, certification, and product supply availability and readiness.
- Manage the product quality by building robust quality system in our partners in Southeast Asia region. Manage toxicity testing with Dow’s analytical labs and toxicology team. Continue to drive PCR quality improvement and implement in recycler partners.
- Develop right quality procedures for PCR. Provides technical support to resolve quality complaints for PCR products in the Southeast Asia region.
- Data analysis and market study for sustainability and circular products, maintaining relevant regional database.
- Your role will be instrumental in proliferating circularity success stories, showcasing the tangible impact of Dow's initiatives in Southeast Asia.
- Play an active role in influencing new Government policies regarding plastics.
- Your close collaboration with the Government Affairs and Public Affairs team on communication strategies will help broaden the acceptance and implementation of sustainability projects. This role is not just a job; it's a chance to make a real difference in how we approach sustainability in the plastics industry.

**Key performance metrics include**:

- Build a strong relationship with key sustainability stakeholders in the target countries, including Government, associations, brand owners, etc.
- New partnerships (# of new customers, value chain partners), Collaboration aspects: Close communication and partnership with local sales and marketing managers, country leaders, and regional business leaders.

**Skill Set Requirements**:

- Proven business development background
- Strong track record in building relationships with local customers and value chain partners.
- This job requires strong interpersonal skills to build a network with broader marketing/technical experts within Dow, resolving conflicts, and addressing resource/support gaps.
- Has strong communication and project management skills.
- Brings entrepreneurial mindset to the job.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing strategic initiatives a plus.
- Experience in engaging Govt agencies a plus.
- Good understanding of the local plastics industry, a plus
- Passionate and dedicated to promoting sustainability and inspiring positive environmental impact.
- Technical expertise in polymer science

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum bachelor, master, or business degree a plus
- 10+ years of relevant business sustainability experience in chemical industry
- Flexible travel more than 50% within the Southeast Asia region
