BTO will provide holistic life-planning digital solutions to be used by Financial Planners (wholesale clients) and individual clients (retail).

**Job brief
This role is core to the Tech and Product strategy of the company. The “Engine” is the API used to do financial projections (Monte-Carlo simulations) and shortfall calculation. The Engine developer will implement new features, maintain the solution and architecture it in a way which is performant, scalable and extendable.

The engine is working alongside a set of rules that describes economic behaviors for supported countries. Helping to write new rules and extends rule files capabilities is part of the scope for this position as well.

**Responsibilities
- Responsible for architecting and defining the Engine API to solve complex financial behaviors
- Responsible for creation of all coded Engine API deliverables
- Pro active to propose new solutions/features/improvements
- Participates in scoping and planning work
- Write technical documentation, white papers, presentations, contributes to determining internal processes
- Coordinate with support teams to ensure speedy resolution on issues/bugs
- Perform escalation to relevant party on case-by-case basis

**What you do**:

- Implement API methods, extend algorithms, refactor solution, write tests
- Understanding of good design principles and ability to adhere to complex design specifications during implementation
- Highly skilled in **Java **and writing performant and reliable **algorithms**:

- Knowledge of NetBeans IDE, Apache Tomcat
- Using **Git **daily
- Able to clearly communicate with peers, QA, PM, Product team and Management team
- Write technical documentation or draw architecture diagrams
- Basic **DevOps **knowledge
- Knowledge of cloud development and hosting (Azure, AWS,)
- Familiar with some of Java **testing **frameworks and API testing frameworks
- Comfortable working with remote team members and in a multi-cultural environment.
- Interested into actively participating to product development, ideation, design workshop
- Strong written & oral communication as well as presentation skills
- Fluent in English
