Research Officer

A bioinformatician research officer position is available in Jinmiao Chen?s lab. The lab focuses on single-cell and spatial omics data analysis and integration. The job scope is to develop novel methods for handling 1) large human cell atlas single-cell data 2) single-cell multi-omics data 3) spatial omics data. With the novel methods, we aim to tackle all major computational challenges including dimension reduction, clustering, cell type identification, pseudo-time inference, cell-to-cell interaction and etc. The expected outputs are high-impact journal publications and patents.
**Job Requirements**:
- Master or bachelor in any of computer science/engineering, mathematics, data science, computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics, or related fields
- Strong background in AI, machine learning, data mining and statistics is preferred
- Experience/ability to develop new algorithms
- Programming skills using any of R/python/perl/shell script/C++/Matlab/Java or similar
- Experience in analysis of NGS, mass/flow cytometry, single-cell data(preferred)
- Willing to learn, team player, independent, self-driven with good interpersonal skills
- Able/willing to learn new technologies, open to new challenges
- Strong communication, problem-solving, excellent writing skills and critical thinking
