Child Counsellor

The Other Clinic is a team-based practice with a strong work ethic and emphasis on community and training.
- To therapeutically work with children, adolescents, adults and their families
- Assess and formulate individualised therapy plans
- Providing individual and family interventions using evidence-based practice
- Parenting interventions
- Running groups e.g. social thinking groups
- Ability to work face-to-face and online
- Report writing where necessary
- Liaising with other professionals e.g. psychiatrists, paediatricians, school staff.
- Providing talks, workshops and training
- Working with corporate clients e.g. schools
- Providing an onsite school clinic
- Working weekends and evenings

**Competencies Required**
- Masters in counselling
- Minimum 4 years counselling experience
- Minumum 2 years school counselling experience
- Experience of working with children with SEN
- Experience of working with parents (including COSP: Circle Of Security groups and Gottman Emotional Coaching)
- Experience of delivering emotion regulation and social thinking programme
- Additional training and experience desirable (e.g. Schema Therapy for children, Parent Child Attachment EMDR)
- Experience of implementing structured change models
- Eligible for registration with SPS or SAC.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team e.g. shared cases
- Experience working with risk and safeguarding
- Assist training desirable
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with autonomy and be a team player
- Committed to attending regular supervision
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, occasional home visit where necessary
- Flexible working in a fast-paced environment that is growing
- IT skills in Office Applications such as Word, Excel, use of Apps
