**Roles & Responsibilities**
PayPal is seeking an experienced, driven, and ambitious professional for our Market Development team with focus on Africa markets. The individual will lead regional and strategic projects for PayPal in Africa, and will be responsible for holistically growing the business, identifying and developing new business opportunities, and negotiating agreements with key external stakeholders, merchants, and business partners. In this exciting role, the individual will be responsible for scoping potential growth opportunities for PayPal in the region, driving internal excitement and prioritization of resources for the region and ultimately delivering on the growth. This would require the individual to work cross-functionally with other senior stakeholders and leaders in the organization. In addition, the individual will be responsible for building strategic relationships with key leaders in merchant organizations and partners at the C-level and driving pipeline activity in the region for market development.
PayPal is currently present in 60+ markets in Middle East & Africa. While the business and e-commerce landscape are relatively nascent in the region, it is experiencing hypergrowth, and the role presents an opportunity to drive the next S-curve of growth for PayPal’s business in the region.

**Business Acumen and Strategy**
- Define and implement the business strategy to drive and maximize growth within Africa and establish the company as the leading payment solution provider in the cross-border payment space.
- Identify new business growth opportunities and clearly articulate the benefits which can be driven
- Responsible for the overall P&L of the business including establishing business and revenue goals and strategies
**Partner Management**
- Managing a set of key strategic partnerships, with experience in Africa market; hold end-to-end view of the partner portfolio, and define mid-term (12-18 month) commercial priorities for partners
- Grow the partner pipeline and driving discipline around prospecting and onboarding new customers, as well as relationship-based growth of existing portfolio
- Drive “operational excellence” by leveraging regional infrastructure to maximize efficiency and synergy of the organizations
- Ability to influence and drive outcome with key internal and external stakeholders to accelerate partner pipeline and
- Coordinating with counterparts globally to contribute to international initiatives and sharing best practices.
**Communicating**
- Representing the company both internally and externally to communicate key business objectives, build partnerships and seek resources
- Working with colleagues across International Markets and the global organization to ensure adequate resources are secured to achieve business goals
**Requisite Experience**
- Demonstrated ability to think with long-term strategic mindset, while showing strong execution capabilities to deliver on targets
- Prior experience and knowledge about Africa market and demonstrated delivery of clear commercial results in the region
- Good analytical and decision-making skills
- Appropriate industry knowledge of payments and fintech
- Experience in business building, strategic partnerships and P&L management is desirable
- Prior experience with risk management and regulatory requirements within Africa market would be advantageous
- People leadership experience leading and building high-performance sales teams
- Must have an excellent command of both verbal and written English
