**Roles & Responsibilities**

A cake baker's job involves combining flour and sugar with other ingredients and baking them to produce cakes, typically using recipes and exact measurements. Bakers also be skilled in performing quality checks on ingredients and finished products, use buttercream or freshcream to icing the cake, decorations to enhance item presentation, and process orders from customers.

Although no formal education is required for this job, hands-on training is necessary; new hires typically undergo an on-the-job training period.

Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis.

**Responsibilities**:

- Clean kitchen equipment and tools before use
- Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare cake
- Bake different cake types, like chiffon cake or sponge cake
- Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
- Mix various ingredients to create fillings for cakes (e.g. chocolate ganache, caramel sauce and fruits)
- Decorate cakes with freshcream, buttercream and edible toppings, like chocolate
- Prepare custom-made pastries based on customers’ preferences (e.g. customized fondant name or drawing)
- Track food supplies and place orders, as needed

**Requirements and skills**:

- Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role
- Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Experience with cake decoration techniques
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
- Flexibility to work in early morning shifts
- Certification from a culinary school is a plus
