**Key Responsibilities**

As second line of defence:

- Support the risk activities in Private Banking Singapore (“PBS”) / Group Private Banking (“GPB”), focusing on providing independent operational risk oversights based on the Group’s frameworks and policies (including but not limited to Group Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and Group Operational Risk Management Policy)
- Work closely with other Risk Centre of Excellence (CoE) (such as Non-Financial Risk Management (“NFRM”) team, Credit Management Private Banking (“CMPB”) under Non-Retail Risk CoE, Retail Risk) to ensure the on-going successful implementation of an effective and consistent enterprise-wide operational risk management framework
- Work closely with NFRM team and first line/BU (PB Head of Department and the appointed Risk and Control Officer (“RCO”) and Designated Compliance and Operational Risk Officer (“DCORO”)) on the validation of various control environment testing results and deep-dive review and control of the key risk indicators of PBS/GPB

**_Operational Risk Management _**
- As second line of defence and a PB operational risk specialist, he/she supports the risk activities in PBS / GPB and provides risk oversights function in PBS / GPB focusing on operational risk management

**Closely engaging first line of defence/BU (the PB Head of Department, RCO and DCORO) in the following areas**:

- Overseeing and providing constructive challenge to the first line of defense’s execution of the operational risk framework (eg. challenging the first line’s validation of control environment test results)
- Reporting to Senior management on aggregate operational risk exposure and mitigation activity
- Escalation to Senior Management on high or critical issues requiring attention and to provide guidance to first line/BU where appropriate with a view to improve efficiency and effectiveness of established controls

**Working closely with NFRM team in the following areas**:

- Review/enhancement of Risk & Control Self Assessment (“RCSA”) with PBS/GPB
- Performance of validation of CET, KRI, CIM & LED, conduct risk reviews on processes within PBS/GPB
- Quality control on BU/BE’s interpretation of policies and procedures for assessment of risk rating applicable
- Participate in the new product assessment originating from PBS/GPB and ensuring that the operational risk considerations are appropriately and adequately assessed and to obtain post implementation review with the product owners/initiators

**Job Requirement**
- Bachelor Degree
- Minimum 7 years work experience with at least 5 years of experience working within either a support function or in operational risk management department of a universal bank
- Preference for professional or post graduate qualifications e.g. chartered accountant, MBA
- Good communication skills both, verbal and written
- An understanding of risk drivers and ability to articulate risk to non-risk personnel
- Strong understanding of private banking, its business, system and internal processes (end-to-end)
- A deep understanding of the operational risk management requirements of a private bank
- Basic understanding of system requirements and infrastructure
- Experience in being able to contribute to methodology enhancement
- Develop strong partnership and collaboration with the various BU/BE with the achievement of the common goals in mind
