**Job Scope**

The accountabilities of the Manager, BME includes operational & administrative management of biomedical services.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- To support the Director, Hospital Operations in the administrative and operational functions of BME services.
- Plans, organises, leads and directs the BME functions to be consistent with the mission and goals of the centre. Oversees all activates and personnel in the defined scope of services.
- Ensure smooth operations of the various department's BME requirements.
- Responsible for the daily operations including budgeting, recruitment, training and overall performance of the departments.
- Lead and implement improvement projects in line with the Hospital's overall strategic direction.
- Formulate and review the department's policies, procedures, work instruction and standards.
- Develops and directs programme to operate BME systems in a safe and efficient manner.
- Manage and administer maintenance service contracts for the related services, ensuring that the maintenance schedules are properly set-up and carried out within desired quality and cost.
- Ensure budget plans are properly implemented and objectives met.
- Ensure that the company's policies and directives are effectively communicated to staff, compliance monitored and corrective action taken when necessary.
- Leads and manages for excellence in service quality.
- Maintains a high standard of professional service by being a resource person providing guidance, leadership and training of staff.
- Liaises with external agencies, Ministry of Health, other hospitals, foreign institutions, and educational and professional bodies on administrative, operational and professional matters.

**Requirements**:

- Possess a Bachelor Degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience and of which 2 years must be in a supervisory capacity or
- Possess a Diploma in Engineering with at least 7 years of relevant experience and of which 3 years must be in a supervisory capacity.
- Have 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in the field of Biomedical Engineering.
- Knowledge and experience in to healthcare or hospital operations, clinical operations and project management is an added advantage.
- Results and quality oriented with good leadership capabilities and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated, able to work well under pressure, multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
