Senior Engineer Team Lead, Developer Platform

**Mission Summary**:
We are seeking a capable and highly motivated Team Lead for our Developer Platform team to enable rapid and safe software delivery by providing a unified, efficient and reliable platform for all developers at Motional. You will lead a team of talented engineers that focuses on improving the engineering experience and developer productivity of teams in Motional by providing them with the necessary tools and processes. You will collaborate closely with teams across the organization to identify pain points and drive initiatives that empower teams to deliver on Motional's mission.

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Lead a team of Software/Platform Engineers in Singapore, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Lead the Engineering Enablement and Productivity function of the Developer Platform group - defining strategy, setting KPIs and reporting on progress.
- Architect, design and develop tools and systems that optimizes the development lifecycle, including developer portals, build systems, toolchains and code quality tools and internal libraries.
- Architect, design and build the next generation of productivity metrics reporting system
- Work closely with engineering teams around the world (US, Singapore) to understand their needs, identify pain-points and lead initiatives to improve their development workflows.
- Partner with DevOps/SRE team to develop and maintain automation, services and bots to reduce developer toil.
- Work with domain experts across the organization to establish and promote best practices for software

**What We're Looking For**:

- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent knowledge and work experience.
- 6+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Developer Experience or related roles.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in developer platform/enablement domains.
- Strong background in modern programming languages, especially C++ and Python.
- Proficient with Bazel, build tools, debugging tools, toolchains and hermetic build environments
- Knowledge and experience in using frameworks such as DORA, FLOW, SPACE or DX Core 4 to measure developer productivity and engineering performance
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab CI, Jenkins).
- Expertise in software engineering principles including requirements gathering, software design, source control management, build processes, code reviews, testing methods.
- Experience with Linux environments, software, and toolchains.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional problem solving skills.
- Adaptable, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

**Bonus Points**:

- Experience in the Autonomous Vehicle (AV) industry or robotics.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Cloudwatch, Datadog).
- Experience with software development tools and services (e.g. Artifactory, Vault, Sonarqube)
