Product Design Engineer

Singapore TQC PRECISION ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. Full time

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead mechanical design and development of wafer prober systems and subsystems
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Design precision positioning systems, wafer handling mechanisms amd docking solutions
- Develop innovative solutions for thermal management, vibration isolation, and system stability
- Ensure designs meet semiconductor industry requirements
- Conduct structural analysis, thermal analysis, and motion studies using FEA/simulation tools
- Perform tolerance analysis and design for manufacturing (DFM) optimization
- Design and execute validation tests for mechanical components and assemblies
- Collaborate with test engineers to validate system performance against specifications
- Analyze field feedback and implement design improvements
- Work closely with electrical engineers on system integration and mechatronic designs
- Collaborate with software engineers to ensure optimal hardware-software interface
- Partner with manufacturing teams to optimize producibility and cost-effectiveness
- Coordinate with quality assurance teams to establish testing protocols and acceptance criteria
- Support procurement team in supplier selection and component qualification
- Create comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, testprocedures, and user manuals
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (SEMI, ISO, CE marking requirements)
- Maintain design change control and configuration management
- Develop and maintain design guidelines and best practices documentation
- Participate in customer requirement reviews and design specification development
- Support sales team with technical presentations and customer demonstrations
- Analyze competitive products and market trends to drive innovation
- Contribute to roadmap planning and next-generation product concepts

**Job Requirement**
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development
- Experience with precision machinery, automation systems, or semiconductor equipment preferred
- Proven track record of taking products from concept through production
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent)
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation tools
- Knowledge of precision mechanics, servo control systems, and motion control
- Understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and assembly methods
- Familiarity with cleanroom design requirements and contamination control
- Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and vacuum system design
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills for technical documentation and presentations
- Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional project teams
- Detail-oriented with strong quality mindset
