**What you will be working on**

The job-holder will be responsible for the following, but not limited to which:

- Develop and maintain the Home Team Technical Standards and Implementation Process Reference Guidelines for Biometrics use.
- Knowledgeable in all Biometrics relevant international standards, including but not exclusive, ISO, NIST, FBI, FIDO, etc, and track all current and new developments in international regulations, adoptions, best practices, security concerns, technology updates in Biometrics.
- Active participation in all national and international Biometrics committees to influence and/or effect changes in biometrics matters.
- Conduct training and workshops for HTX and Home Team officers, in increasing tiers of proficiency and competency, for different levels of Biometrics needs.
- Work with Biometrics Domain Experts, in promoting adoption of the matured R&D outcomes of their respective field of research and experimentations, to Home Team and international community.
- Provide technical consultation in term of technology performance evaluations and solution recommendations to meet operational users’ current and future requirements.

**What we are looking for**
- At least a tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics (STEM) or other quantitative disciplines
- 3 to 5 years working experience in a technical role in Biometrics or related fields is required
- Knowledgeable in the development of and conformance to Standards (like ISO and IEC) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Prior experience as an active representative or participant in an international or national regulatory or cooperative non-governmental organisation (like ISO, ICAO, or similar) will be an added advantage
- Actively keep up-to-date on the latest biometric development in the academia and research field, and industry
- Highly adaptable to changes in a fast-paced environment, with proven ability to effectively prioritize and deliver tasks on schedule
- Have good interpersonal and communications skills for engagement with internal and external stakeholders
- A team player with maturity to work independently where and when required
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Be able to write and speak well

All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
