Human Resources Analyst

**Job Summary
Reporting to the Head of Research and Organisation Development, you will provide assistance with relevant industry research and execute tasks across various functional areas within human resources. Typical responsibilities include performing research to analyse data and information relating to selected themes within the maritime sector and HR; making recommendations based on research findings; participating in reviews; administering various HR activities with a focus on learning and development programmes; and performing other related activities.
**Responsibilities**
- Assist in the review and formulation of HR programmes, policies and procedures. This is done to continually assess the adequacy of existing HR policies to meet the emerging workforce and industry’s needs;
- Conduct research covering areas in both the maritime sector and HR sphere that includes studying of key maritime developments, national and international legislations, and policies and procedures in comparable organisations. This is to ensure the organisation remain aware of key developments that have potential impact on the organisation and its workforce;
- Assist to compile information and data, evaluate and make recommendations that would be put forward to the management;
- Organise consultation sessions with relevant stakeholders to gather feedback on recommendations, procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency with the Organisation’s priorities;
- Develop and implement appropriate communication strategies to promote awareness and understanding of HR policies for line managers and staff;
- Assist in identifying and implementing L&D programs in conjunction with research findings and consultation with line managers;
- Develop systematic feedback mechanisms/approaches to assess policy impact and effectiveness;
- Serve as a point of contact on HR matters by providing line managers and staff with information and advice, ensuring compliance with policies, and investigating, mediating, and resolving employee complaints;
- Participate in/on a variety of committees, teams, and meetings and serve as a deputy liaison to partners and government agencies;
- Assist in the preparation of presents reports and presentation related to projects and areas of responsibility; and
- Any other duties that may be assigned.
**Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Data Science or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. Two years of experience in human resources or policy research areas.
**Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of:
- Human resources principles and practices;
- Local legislations, statutes and/or tripartite guidelines;
- Research methodologies;
- Statistical computations and analysis;
- Employee relations principles and practices.
Demonstrated Skill in:
- Conducting studies, analyzing information and data, preparing sound recommendations and presenting findings in a concise format;
- Analyzing and interpreting policies, practices, and procedures;
- Preparing written reports and business correspondence;
- Maintaining confidentiality;
- Speaking in public;
- Utilizing computer technology for communication, data gathering and reporting;
- Communicating effectively through oral and written mediums.
