Maintenance Officer and Caretaker

In the early years, an inquiry-based “Inquire-Think-Learn” curriculum, inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach is followed. In the primary, secondary and high school, EtonHouse offers the globally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme and IGCSE qualifications. There are 9 IB schools in the EtonHouse family.
DESIGNATION : Maintenance Officer and Caretaker
RESPONSIBILITIES
The job holder duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Handling security of school premises and directing traffic during school peak hours;
- Supervising and monitoring outsourced contractors on project and rectification works on site;
- Upkeeping and handling general care of the school i.e. school building, outdoor compound and surroundings;
- Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repair works, electrical, plumbing, plastering and painting works;
- Clearing school compound of litters and leaves;
- Handling excessive clearing of litters and leaves during increment weather;
- Performing general cleaning of the classrooms and school compound;
- Checking school ground, doors, decks, windows and fences for damage / deterioration. Check any damage on exterior fence, floor or building, ceilings. To inform maintenance team for repair if above elements are found damaged.
- Inspecting school compound of potential mosquito breeding;
- Preventing water from accumulating near the building, look any signs of gutter or downspout problems. Check to ensure there is no potential mosquito breeding. To clear gutters and drains if found blockage.
- Checking that all external and internal light fixtures are in working condition;
- Gardening and sweeping of leaves;
- Handling general duties such as set up of rooms, moving of furniture from classroom to classroom or EtonHouse branches
- Assisting other staff with simple tasks as and when requested;
- Preparing rooms for school events, graduation ceremony, festive functions when required;
- Receiving and checking goods and supplies for maintenance and store them in correct storage areas;
- Any other duties as and when assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 1 - 2 years of work experience either in school environment or similar environment;
- Self-driven and committed individual with excellent follow up;
- Results oriented and able to work under pressure
- 5-day work week
