**What the role is**
- You will be part of the Sports Business & Partnerships team charged with formulating strategies and implementing initiatives that would grow the Sports Tourism sector in line with STB’s aim of promoting economic growth through tourism.

**What you will be working on**
- 2. Strategy and Business Development - To work closely with industry stakeholders to identify pertinent trends and developments in order to better inform the sports events strategy and optimise STB’s business development efforts. In so doing, officer will be expected to identify a) major sporting events with a strong tourism upside that can be staged in Singapore and to engage and cultivate those business leads; and b) strategic local events with strong growth potential and work with the event owners to develop and scale up these events to maximise the tourism ROI. - To collaborate with industry partners to structure viable partnerships in order to attract sporting events that demonstrate good tourism potential. Officer may be assigned a selection of sporting genres and is expected to gain an in-depth understanding of the financial and operational triggers driving business decisions for business development for each genre. - To guide and advice industry stakeholders, such as right owners and event promoters, on how to enhance product offerings, optimise marketing efforts and trade engagements in order to maximise tourism yield and hence qualify for event funding; also to support key stakeholders in the area of industry development, in order to improve their capabilities, productivity etc. - To pursue, through research and business development efforts, sport-related IPs beyond events, that can bolster and broaden STB's sports tourism ambitions.

**What we are looking for**
- Must have for the job - Excellent time and project management abilities. - Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including government agencies. - Ability to identify, analyse and synthesise information to anticipate issues and make effective decisions. - Business acumen to evaluate business plans and be well attuned to the needs and concerns of key stakeholders in both the public and private sectors, while preserving STB’s interests. - Strong communications and stakeholder engagement skills. - Possess strategic agility (e.g. to understand linkages between the event and whole-of-government economic strategies). - At least 3 years of work experience - Business/ Economics/ Engineering or related Degree preferred - Strong business acumen and ability to develop business partnerships. - Strong conceptual & analytical thinking skills with high level of initiative and drive. - Demonstrated track record in project management, partnership building and stakeholder management. Good to have - Good language and copywriting skills. - Interest and knowledge in the sports industry, in particular e-sports, as well as international professional leagues, major sporting events etc. - Financial literacy along with strong numerical analytical skills. - Experience working with Government agencies and/or Inter-Ministry project teams is an advantage. - Experience working in the sports industry, in areas such as sponsorship, business development, operations and / or broadcast will also be a plus.
