- The Rakuten AI & Data Division (AIDD), creates powerful, customer-focused search, recommendation, data science, advertising, marketing, price, and inventory optimization solutions to a variety of businesses in commerce, fintech and mobile industries.
- Be it providing personalized superior user experience to our customers or making informed business decisions, data plays a vital role underlying all AI-driven initiatives. We are looking for a data analytics intern to support our team in collecting, processing, and performing statistical analyses on datasets to discover useful information, suggest conclusions, and support decision-making. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis while contributing to business growth and enhanced customer experience.

Position Details
- Data Exploration and Analysis: Assist in leveraging statistical tools and techniques to explore and analyze datasets, helping identify patterns, relationships, and trends that drive business insights.
- Data Cleaning and Preparation: Support data quality initiatives by helping filter data, handle missing values, and prepare datasets for analysis under supervision.
- Data Visualization: Create visual representations of data insights, including charts, graphs, and basic dashboards, to help communicate findings to team members and stakeholders.
- Reporting and Documentation: Assist in preparing reports and presentations that clearly communicate data insights and findings to support data-driven decision-making processes.
- Cross-functional Support: Collaborate with various departments to understand their data requirements and help provide insights that support informed decision-making across the organization.
- Learning and Development: Participate in training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programs to develop technical skills and industry knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in statistical analysis tools and programming languages, particularly Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with data analysis concepts and eagerness to learn data exploration, analysis, and visualization techniques.
- Basic understanding of data cleaning and preparation techniques. Exposure to database management systems is a plus.
- Good communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to team members and contribute to a data-driven environment.
- Enthusiasm for learning about e-commerce, fintech, and technology industries.
- Previous internship experience or personal projects involving data analysis is preferred.
