Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) is a leading universal and commercial bank focusing on the needs of its regional and international clients. Within the Corporate Finance department, the bank offers a full range of strategic services to clients. Starting from a strategic dialogue involving its sector experts, this covers advisory, as well as structuring and implementation of tailored financing solutions including syndicated loans, corporate bonds, acquisition finance and ABS.
The Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) unit within the Corporate Finance department is closely connected with the bank’s sector experts and other advisory units and plays an important role in delivering high quality, tailored services to the bank’s most important clients. With the increasing importance of M&A advisory within LBBW, the firm has embarked on a globalization strategy, and the M&A Asia/Pacific team (based in Singapore) plays an integral part in growing the global M&A business, working closely with the M&A team located at the bank’s headquarters in Stuttgart.
The role of Associate Director will report to LBBW’s Head of M&A Asia/Pacific, based in Singapore.
**Responsibilities**:
- Contribute and support clients in Asia/Pacific, consisting of local and multi-national corporates, financial institutions, and financial sponsors at the decision-maker level;
- Assist the Head of M&A Asia/Pacific to identify suitable potential buy-side and sell-side mandates in Asia/Pacific, as well as cross-border mandates between Europe and Asia;
- Support in the origination and execution of Asia/Pacific and international M&A transactions; and
- Support brand awareness and growth of LBBW in Asia/Pacific, including the onboarding of newly acquired clients in the Asia/Pacific region.
**Technical requirements**:
- Exemplary 5 - 8 years experience in the Corporate Finance area, particularly with relevant M&A advisory transaction experience;
- Solid knowledge of theoretical and practical Investment Banking techniques and valuation methodologies;
- Excellent knowledge of technical and content-related aspects of M&A transactions, including negotiation skills and financial modelling skills;
- Collaborative and motivating team player with experience in day-to-day project management and team coordination; and
- Strong willingness to perform and create, always putting the transaction, the team, and the client first.
**Other requirements**:
- Successfully completed university studies preferably in Business, Economics, Accounting or other related field, ideally with a focus on finance;
- Relevant regional and international experience and commitment to the Asia/Pacific region;
- Willingness to work end-to-end on M&A transactions, from origination to execution;
- Entrepreneurial, responsible, and independent way of working;
- High level of integrity, trust, and credibility as a M&A professional in his/her field;
- Commitment and strong team awareness;
- Strong solution competence, coupled with awareness for high quality, and open to new developments and ideas;
- Diligence and excellent communication skills in order to implement complex topics and decision-making processes in a structured and constructive way across all interfaces;
- Strong self-motivation;
- Team-oriented working style with an interdisciplinary and collaborative mindset, working closely with the Corporate Finance teams and corporate clients.
