Asia Research and Engagement (ARE) is searching for a Research Manager to support the energy transition program and join our team in Singapore.

ARE works with leading institutional investors to engage companies across the region. This work, known in the investment industry as active ownership or stewardship, seeks to influence companies to allocate capital and manage operations in a way that supports sustainable development. The energy transition programme has a particular focus on climate change.

ARE is one of a kind. We are dedicated to making a difference. Our purpose is to advocate for sustainability and bring the voice of investors to Asia’s sustainable development challenges. Our collaborative engagement programmes are investor-backed and operate across the region. There needs to be more frequent dialogue with greater strategic depth between investors and companies on sustainable development and climate change. To address this gap, we use constructive dialogue, building conviction for change and supporting escalation of investor concerns where warranted.

**Requirements**:
Teamwork and collaboration in engagement of energy transition and finance topics

A clear voice giving insights and research to investors and companies

Quality and accuracy of information and insights collection

Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills

Relationship and partnership building with team members and investors

Supporting the Director to execute on the team’s engagement objectives and deliverables

Experience in research, analysis and benchmarking, preferably in energy or sustainability
