As the largest college in Nanyang Technological University Singapore, the College of Engineering (CoE) which comprises six internationally known engineering schools is home to more than 13,000 students, 400 faculty and 1,400 staff. With its engineering research output ranked amongst the top 15 universities in the world, CoE is a recognised leader in innovation and technology.
To support and facilitate the research programmes and activities, we are looking the CoE Research Team Lead to supervise a group of research grant administrators and to ensure the smooth operations of the CoE Research Grant Administration Team office.
You will support the Associate Dean (Research)’s Office of CoE in grant management and research administration, will also act as a primary point of contact for faculty members requiring administrative assistance and advice throughout the life cycle of grant management and research administration.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and supervise the CoE Research Team to manage the full spectrum of grant administration and research administration including the accounts, research manpower and budgets
- Administer and coordinate the grant calls and schemes at CoE
- Ensure financial, legal and regulatory compliance to governmental and funding agency guidelines, strong corporate governance, proper accounting and use of public resources to enhance public accountability.
- Coordinate and/or disseminate grant calls
- Provide grant processing support for proposal, claims and report submissions
- Liaise with the relevant departments to assist faculty members in putting in place the contracts and agreements with individuals or organisations needed for the conduct of research
- Manage research accounts from award to expiry, validate expenditures for compliance with applicable funding agencies terms and conditions and University policies
- Facilitate grant verification and variation submissions
- Oversee submission of progress and final reports, and ensure proper closure of completed research projects
- P romote sound record retention practices to faculty members to facilitate ease of access and compliance with all regulatory policies for retention of documents
- Provide secretariat support to review panel meetings
- Any other ad-hoc initiatives and assignments undertaken by the Office
**Requirements**:
- At least a degree qualification, preferably with some prior experience in grant management/research compliance and/or research administration
- Ability to multi-task and handle sensitive/confidential information
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
