**Position Description**
- Establishes and maintains relationships, credibility and trust with internal partners, Global Trade professionals, legal team members and other colleagues;
- Manages and provides advice and counsel regarding APAC trade-related issues through resolution;
- Seeks business solutions to trade-related issues, and positively influences and contributes to the decision-making process with relevant parties;
- Stays informed and engaged with Customs and other agencies’ laws and practices in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, and the rest of APAC;
- Conducts regular reviews of import and export processes, brokers activities and compliance;
- Develops, implements, and maintains QIAGEN’s trade processes for APAC region;
- Handling import & export trade/custom related processes for domestic/ international shipments;
- Manage custom brokers, express/courier companies;
- Identifies regional trade trends and updates in trade environment and communicate it to the global trade management;
- Contributes to classification of QIAGEN’s articles, country of origin analysis and valuation; and ensure timely review of the HTS classifications and timely communicate and predict any issues arising from the legislative changes throughout the region;
- Implements appropriate Customs valuation strategies for product destinations;
- Establishes network of in-country trade specialists and industry resources;
- Maintains export licenses, and run export controls;
- Provides trade training, as vital, to various partners within QIAGEN;
- Perform other tasks as assigned from time-to-time by the Global Trade team.
**Position Requirements**
- Bachelor Degree or higher in foreign trade, and/or brokerage, and/or Custom law
- Working experience a qualified Trade Compliance role, especially with focus on Asia-Pacific region for more than 5 years
- Good network in the region established
- Providing leadership qualities and experience
- Experienced working in Mulit-National-Company
- Experience with customs & Trade Compliance administration and related authorities
- Requires flexibility in work schedule
- Requires some international travel
- proficiency in English and Mandarin further languages preferred
