**What the role is**
- The Office for Women’s Development (OWD) is the national focal point on gender matters in Singapore. A key mandate for OWD is to strengthen the eco-system for women’s development and represent Singapore on women’s matters internationally. Some of the key initiatives undertaken by OWD include: - Leading the Conversations and White Paper on Singapore Women's Development - Monitoring progress and implementation of Singapore’s obligations with regard to the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) - Increasing the representation of women on boards in the private, public and people sector.
**What you will be working on**
- As the Senior Assistant Director, you will oversee a team of officers in identified areas of responsibilities related to OWD’s work. You will work in close collaboration with various women’s organisations, public sector agencies and industry partners to drive the key initiatives above. You will be involved in CEDAW and other international relations matters pertaining to women’s development, as well as dealing with various entities including the Council for Board Diversity to increase the representation of women on boards. You will also be involved in secretariat duties for various workgroups and committees, and other OWD projects.
**What we are looking for**
- Tertiary Education with a strong interest in women’s development issues as well as current and international affairs - At least 7 years of supervisory experience - Have good leadership and team management skills - Strong conceptualisation and analysis skills - Systematic, meticulous with sharp eyes for details, and good project management skills - Excellent written and communication skills to present views clearly and persuasively. - Good team-player with well-rounded interpersonal skills to work across teams and engage diverse stakeholders (public and private sector) - Able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
