**Job Purpose**

As a Case Manager at HOME’s migrant domestic workers’ (MDWs) helpdesk, you will organise, coordinate, and assess case-related matters of each beneficiary seeking refuge at HOME’s shelter

to best meet a person’s overall wellbeing. The case manager aims for overall client wellbeing by handling their cases and advocating for their needs while working closely with different stakeholders (govt agencies, employment agencies, partner NGOs, hospitals, social service

agencies etc) and coordinating services.

**Job Scope**

As Case Manager for the MDWs helpdesk, your job scope would typically include:

- **Conducting assessments**:You will need to conduct thorough assessments of all MDWs who seek refuge at HOME’s shelter. The Case Manager either conducts or supervises intake interviews to ensure each MDWs needs are understood and grievances raised with the relevant authorities. The Case Manager monitors cases till a resolution is reached through negotiations with employers, agents, and MOM/the police.
- **Coordinating services**:You will need to coordinate with various stakeholders, internal and external, including government agencies, employment agencies, healthcare providers, legal aid organisations and others, to ensure that the MDWs receive the necessary support and assistance.
- **Counselling support**:You may need some basic skills to provide emotional support. You will need to work closely with shelter staff and volunteers to ensure workers receive the necessary emotional support (through inhouse volunteer counsellors, for e.g.) to deal with any challenges they may face, such as adjusting to a new environment or coping with their ongoing dispute.
- **Monitoring progress and reporting requirements**:You will need to regularly monitor the progress of each MDWs case, keep the beneficiaries updated on their case progress, and work closely with different stakeholders till the case is resolved. You will need to work with other HOME staff to provide the necessary reports and data as and when required.
- **Advocacy**:You will need to work closely with HOME’s Research and Advocacy Manager to advocate for the rights and well-being of migrant workers, and ensure that their voices are heard in decision-making processes. From time to time, you may be required to represent HOME in public engagement efforts, such as in student talks, as and when the need arises.
- **Volunteer/Intern management**:You will be responsible for managing a team of volunteers/interns who you will work closely with to delegate tasks on a daily basis. You will need to maintain the volunteer/intern list and engage with volunteers/interns to motivate and supervise them and ensure their regular attendance. You will also be involved in recruiting and training new casework volunteers/interns.
- **Helpline management**:You will undertake the necessary coordination to ensure that all calls and messages are attended to for MDWs who are reaching out to HOME through the MDW helpline, and that appropriate advice is provided.

**Essential skills and competencies for Case Manager**:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and build strong relationships with clients, service providers, volunteers and other stakeholders involved in resolving a case.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple cases and tasks simultaneously.
- Empathetic and advocacy-driven, as well as culturally-sensitive and aware.

**Qualifications**:
Minimum diploma and above, preferably in social work or related field.
