Network Tools and Services Engineer

**Key Responsibilities & Professional Competencies**:

- Ensure the DDI Infoblox platforms and services are managed and maintained
- Develop automation and support embedded API calls for external system integration to Infoblox
- Develop scripts and automation to support IPAM as a service, and to maintain system
- Report on availability, response times of DNS and API, data integrity, and capacity of the Infoblox
- Deliver high-level and low-level design of DDI, and Time Services
- Drive delivery of DDI solutions, including project and implementation support
- Provide DDI consulting services to peer Engineering, Operations, and other teams
- Provide Level 3 / Level 4 escalation support for Network Operations
- Proactively work with internal partners to determine growth requirements and ensure proper capacity is needed to meet demand
- Provide governance support for product life cycle management which will include technology refresh and ensuring adherence to standards for products in the portfolio.
- Assists in planning regional budget and identifying critical budget needs for the region.
- Assist in the development of consistent design, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of Networking Tools and Services across J&J Global Network Services
- Provide engineering support related to issues, and/or addition of new features and functionalities on existing networking tools
- Assist in the research and evaluation of new tools and services to ensure the organization is using the best technologies to meet GNS and business strategic goals.
- Provide strong technical expertise and guidance on the networking tools to support defining roadmap and strategies; including maturation of existing technologies, new tools and services development, and integrations.
- Provide technical knowledge transfer sessions with peer organizations and suppliers regarding changes in procedures, processes, documentation, and frameworks.
- Establish and maintain regular communications with peers, architects, engineering, deployment as well as operations teams, suppliers, and vendors regarding requisite network infrastructure changes, improvement opportunities, and support.
- Consult with peer organizations and management on standard methodologies for the process and procedures to deploy & support Network Tools at scale.
- Consistently drive a mindset for network automation, network program-ability, and repeatable/reusable processes.

**Qualifications**
Required Skills**:

- In-depth experience of DNS, DHCP, IPAM, DNSSEC, BIND, and Time Services (GPS, NTP, PTP). High degree of experience in the day-to-day configuration and Sr. level troubleshooting of these services.
- Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Infoblox suite of products in a large distributed environment
- Integration of DNS and DHCP in Active Directory environment, and Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Creating & modifying DNS zone files manually (forward and reverse zones)
- DNS Anycast
- Experience in change and incident management.
- 4+ years of deep technical experience working on DDI environments
- 6+ years of Enterprise Network experience with a highly available global network infrastructure
- BS or BA in computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience of DDI in a large enterprise.
- Advanced Linux and/or UNIX skills
- Experience with Rest API, Scripting, Programming languages - JSON, Python, Bash, Ansible, Powershell
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Analytical, data-driven problem solver

**Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education**:

- Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), certification is a plus
- Experience implementing and maintaining Network Management, Performance and Monitoring tools like Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA-C, Cisco ISE, ThousandEyes, LogicMonitor, Netscout.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with TCP/IP, network management protocols and features, i.e SNMP, Netlfow, sFlow, cFlowd, Packet Analysis.
- Knowledge of F5 LTM and GTM, BIG-IQ is a plus
- Routing protocols like BGP, EIGRP, L2/L3 LAN, WLAN, Campus networks, Firewalls, and Load-balancers experience
- Solid understanding of Software-Defined Data Centers and Cloud Networking
- Knowledge of DevOps Fundamentals, and Automation Tooling, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
- Knowledge of Git-based Version Control Systems (GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.), JIRA.
- Good understanding of Containers/Microservices
