Key Responsibilities- Maintain, administer and enhance metadata creation in MARC.-
- Develop data analytics reports and dashboards to enable data-driven decision-making and work process improvements.- Develop scripts to streamline metadata maintenance activities, including cleaning and enhancement of metadata.- Assist in developing, implementing and reviewing procedures for original and copy cataloguing of all resources.- Collaborate with stakeholders to co-create the Library’s collection development guidelines.- Lead and manage project teams effectively, ensuring timely completion of projects that align with the library's strategic goals.

General and liaison duties- Foster communication between the Library and designated Academic Groups.- Participate in collection development, including identifying, evaluating and recommending library resources.- Liaise with NIE community to recruit content for the NIE data and digital repository.- Communicate, plan and deliver library events and promotional activities.- Provide information desk services on scheduled evenings and weekends.- Contribute to library projects, peer training and staff development.

**Requirements**:
- A University degree and a recognised postgraduate qualification in Library and/or Information Science, preferably with a background in cataloguing and metadata creation.- At least 5 years of professional working experience in cataloguing and classification across various formats in an academic or research library setting.- The applicant must have experience with RDA, the Library of Congress Classification Schedules, cataloguing in OCLC and MARCEdit.- Working proficiency in Chinese, Malay or Tamil Cataloguing will be an asset.- Knowledge or experience in Library Services Platforms like Alma and Primo would be advantageous.- Knowledge and experience implementing automation projects using tools such as robotic process automation and programming languages such as Python will be an added advantage.- Good interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and innovatively with library colleagues, NIE and external communities.- A keen learner who is adaptable, innovative and able to work independently and in a team.
