Hsse Manager

Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for a HSSE Manager with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

Provides leadership and direction for the HSSE Project to hire and train qualified expertise into the project, to engage personnel on projects and improve project work processes and procedures. The position will ensure compliance with applicable HSSE Management System, Customer HSSE Policies, and governmental regulations by supervising the development of procedures and HSSE plans and ensuring proper execution.
- Embraces Wood strategic purpose, goals, and objectives and translates these into practical concepts relevant to HSSE management in the project site
- Leads a team consisting of professional HSSE staff to support safe project execution till completion
- Teaches problem solving, creative thinking and project planning skills to less experienced staff
- Provides constructive feedback & coaching
- Staffing and development of HSSE talent for projects
- Performance reviews and salary administration
- Prompt reporting of incident, lead incident investigation, and develop feasible measures to prevent recurrence
- Conduct periodic meetings with project staff, to provide top-down information flow about the project HSSE performance
- Lead Project HSSE Committee meetings with client and subcon to communicate and evaluate HSSE issues, continuous improvement of HSSE programs, and create a safe and healthy workplace environment
- Support implmentation of corporate HSSE requirements on project site
- Lead HSSE site inspections to identify and eliminate/reduce HSSE risks in order to prevent incident
- Ensure HSSE Management Systems are monitored and in compliance
- Ensures compliance with audit protocols
- Promote HSSE best practices in the office and on project site
- Development of HSSE project safe work plans
- Support HSSE presentation needs to clients (internal and external)
- Ensure HSSE related training is applicable to project needs
- Submit prompt monthly HSSE performance report to the main office for corporate reporting

Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications:

- Degree qualified in relevant discipline
- ISO HSE Lead Auditor Qualified

Knowledge, skills and experience:

- 15+ years project HSSE experience
- Knowledge of HSSE standards and legal requirements
- Experience of working in and managing a HSSE Management system environment
- Supervisory or direct management experience of more junior staff members is required
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Confident self-starter who can work independently
- Knowledge of internal and external audits and third party certification audits practices
