As our key lead for the Southeast Asian region, you will be responsible for delivering a consistent stream of high quality, targeted media coverage across Southeast Asian markets that we operate in, beginning with Singapore. You will work closely with our Southeast Asia team to support our business growth plans while collaborating internationally to ensure we speak and act with one voice. Although your geographical coverage is SEA, you will have opportunities to be involved in or drive global projects as part of the Global Brand and Communications team. Success in this role will mean an increase in positive brand awareness and reputation that drives engagement with our external stakeholders and enhances our recruiting presence.
This role will report to the Senior Communications Manager based in Australia.

**Responsibilities**:
- Act as an integral part of Airwallex’s Global Brand and Communications team, working to build and implement a wide-ranging strategy for the SEA business;
- Deepen engagement with key stakeholders, internally and externally to build Airwallex’s brand and reputation in SEA, starting with Singapore;
- Fulfill all “press office” duties for the SEA region:
- Own local and regional media relationships, creating a strong network of contacts at top-tier, national and trade publications and securing regular coverage across online, print and broadcast media;
- Prepare and distribute compelling press releases and business updates
- Craft compelling thought leadership content such as op-eds
- Handle incoming media enquiries in an effective and timely manner
- Set up necessary journalist interviews with management team
- Monitor media coverage and circulate, as required
- Develop and maintain consistent region-specific key messages to enhance global messaging
- Create innovative and engaging content for owned communication channels, including the website, social media, and other platforms
- Whenever necessary, manage a local agency for support on key activities, such as media engagement, content creation, event organisation, among others
- Collaborate with your team and the broader marketing function to align activities aimed at raising the company’s business profile, as well as generating leads for inbound sales
- Coordinate the company’s participation in events and conferences across the SEA region, primarily targeted at building our profile and connecting with our target customers, partners and other key stakeholders
- Build out internal communications capabilities in Southeast Asia, liaising with HR and other relevant stakeholders to create a unified approach to employee engagement
- Provide spokesperson guidance for internal stakeholders involved in external relations
**We'd like to speak to you if you have**:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, business and marketing (or other relevant disciplines) preferred
- Substantial experience in B2B communications or public relations either in-house or agency, including leadership roles (minimum 5 years)
- Rolodex of local and regional media contacts within mainstream, business and trade press who you have directly pitched to in recent years and have good relationships with
- Exceptional written and verbal communication ability in English
- Solid knowledge of social media channels targeted at business audiences (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Medium etc)
**We'd be extra excited if you have (but not a must)**:
- Either worked at or for a high-growth tech company
- Experience in managing brand / advertising campaigns
- Creative content development / design skills
- Fluency in other main Southeast Asian languages
