Laboratory Technician/analyst

The Laboratory Technician supports day-to-day laboratory operations by assisting with basic calibration and simple troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. He/She assists in sampling, segregation and conducting analysis for in-coming sample, to ensure meets required specification, in strict accordance with laboratory Standard Operating Procesures (SOPs) and under close supervision. The Laboratory Technician complies with Environmental, Health and Workplace Safety requirements by perform good housekeeping in the workplace.
The Laboratory Technician works in a team in the laboratory. He/She is a team player, able to work independently, organised and possesses good analytical and communication skills.

**_Environmental, Health and Workplace Safety _**
- Assist in handling, storage and transportation of hazardous substances and dangerous goods, in accordance with standards and practices
- Comply with safety rules and regulations
- Perform good housekeeping I the workplace
**_Perform laboratory operations _**
- Assis in basic calibration and basic troubleshooting on a range of laboratory equipment.
- Assist in the labelling of samples
- Follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) for laboratory operations
**_Manage sampling and analysis _**
- Assist in sample segregation and sampling process
- Assist in sample analysis, according to documented test methods
- Assist in documentation of sample testing results
