Join Our Team as a Structural Engineer at ABL Group

**What will you be doing?**

As our Structural Engineer, you will work as part of a team, supporting and performing regional structural discipline duties. In addition, you will:

- Prepare as required and assist with technical inputs on projects and working on interfaces.
- Prepare as required and assist with review, analysis, and interpretation of technical data.
- Assist with report writing and writing Technical Notes.
- Undertake analytical work and create and maintain spreadsheets and databases.
- Attend regular internal meetings and external/third-party meetings as required
- Ensure all deliverables are conducted in full compliance with approved instructions, procedures, and policies.
- Maintain detailed logbooks documenting progress, focusing on achieving the objectives set by the UK Engineering Council for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
- Engage with mentors to gain insights and guidance on professional growth and project execution.
- Work collaboratively with teams to deliver innovative solutions.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- All other tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
- Always comply with the company QHSE policies, manuals, procedures, work systems and regulations at ABL premises, projects and client sites.

To thrive in this role, you'll bring your expertise in structural engineering principles, along with proficiency in MS Office and strong numerical accuracy. - Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and practices.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and engaging.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong team player with a proactive approach.
- Well-organized, insightful, and a self-starter.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- High level of numerical accuracy and ability to prioritize work.

Desirable:

- Master’s degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 2-5 years in a shipyard, engineering consultancy, or offshore contractor role (preferred).
- Knowledge of Beam FE software (e.g., STAAD Pro, SACS, Sesame) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Plate and Solid FE software (e.g., FEMAP, ANSYS) is an advantage.
- Understanding of offshore oil & gas, ship design, marine operations, or renewable foundations, including relevant practices and regulations.
