Job Descriptions:

- Provides necessary definition, development and deployment of optical product strategy, addressing all phases of product engineering, including compliance to specification and yield enhancement. Ensure design for manufacturability is integrated in the development process, ensuring effective product transfer, release to production and volume ramp.
- To develop test methods and capabilities align to company’s product roadmap that meets in-house manufacturing capabilities.
- Interact as necessary with the company’s joint venture partners to deploy products into manufacturing, relative to process control, yield improvement, scrap reduction, process optimization and product management.

Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Involved in design and development of optical Transmit (Tx) or Receive (Rx) sub-assemblies using POET’s integrated Optical interposer technology, from specification to prototype functional testing.

2. Data compilation and analysis, reporting and documentation.

3. Provides Engineering support to product development and manufacturing teams. Helps to ensure development of highest quality new products.

4. Participates in the development and implementation of new products or product changes by creating product specifications, quality specifications, quality plans, risk analyses, FMEAs in conjunction with other product development team members.

5. Runs complex problem-solving efforts and mentors’ others on best practices. e.g., FMEA, Control Plan, Test plan, quality tools and DOE. e.g., Leads/ coordinates CA of failures using a structured approach.

6. Develops or participates in the development, implementation, or improvement of test method strategies and establishment of quality system/subsystems.

7. Compiles and presents data in clear concise formats. Presentation skills to upper level management required.

8. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced engineers.

9. Interfaces with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning quality and assure that effective corrective action or improvement is implemented.
