Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Optics Engineer to design, simulate, and optimize optical systems and components for advanced photonics products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of optical modules and subsystems.
  • Design optical paths including lenses, mirrors, micro-optics.
  • Develop and optimize optical packaging processes.
  • Perform optical simulations and modeling, analyzing beam propagation, coupling efficiency, losses, and thermal effects.
  • Evaluate and qualify optical components (e.g., lenses, waveguides, fiber assemblies, coatings) and suppliers based on performance, manufacturability, and yield.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to analyze tolerances, control processes, and integrate optical components effectively.
  • Involved in design verification and testing, working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate optical designs into system-level products.
  • Document designs, simulations, and test results to support intellectual property creation and product certifications.

Qualifications:

  • PHD or Master's degree in Optics, Physics, Photonics, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years experience in optical design, simulation, and packaging for photonics or MEMS-based systems.
  • Strong understanding of optical components, fiber-optic systems, tolerances, and system-level integration.
  • Hands-on experience with optical alignment, fiber coupling and packaging techniques etc.
  • Proficiency with optical simulation tools (e.g., Zemax).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
