Senior Optics Engineer

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Optics Engineer to design, simulate, and optimize optical systems and components for advanced photonics products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of optical modules and subsystems.
- Design optical paths including lenses, mirrors, micro-optics.
- Develop and optimize optical packaging processes.
- Perform optical simulations and modeling, analyzing beam propagation, coupling efficiency, losses, and thermal effects.
- Evaluate and qualify optical components (e.g., lenses, waveguides, fiber assemblies, coatings) and suppliers based on performance, manufacturability, and yield.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to analyze tolerances, control processes, and integrate optical components effectively.
- Involved in design verification and testing, working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate optical designs into system-level products.
- Document designs, simulations, and test results to support intellectual property creation and product certifications.
Qualifications:
- PHD or Master's degree in Optics, Physics, Photonics, or a related field.
- At least 8 years experience in optical design, simulation, and packaging for photonics or MEMS-based systems.
- Strong understanding of optical components, fiber-optic systems, tolerances, and system-level integration.
- Hands-on experience with optical alignment, fiber coupling and packaging techniques etc.
- Proficiency with optical simulation tools (e.g., Zemax).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
