**Responsibilities**:

- He shall ensure that the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the Company’s Safety Management system, Quality, Safety and Environmental Protection functions within the Company and onboard the vessels.
- He shall assist in implementing **OPM 6 - Fleet Management System**. He shall with his best endeavour to advise in relation to performance of the assigned vessels.
- Visit the vessels at appropriate intervals as per approved ship visit plan and inspect them as per the procedures laid down.
- He shall monitor the safety and environment protection activities on board all assigned vessels (in his Fleet group) by the following:
a. SAFIR reports,

b. Monthly Safety Meeting by Shipboard committee,

c. Analyse the trends in the SAFIR & Near-Miss reports once every 3 months, produce a report to the QAC and suggest corrective actions to be taken

d. Risk Assessment (from ships) monitoring and trending every 3-monthly
- Assist Fleet Manager in monitoring and implementing TMSA requirements and to assist the company to attain highest possible level.
- He is also required to ensure that he is familiar with all the commercial aspects and other commercial related details of his vessels, such as:
a. Relevant clauses of Charter Party such as speed and consumptions, cargo exclusion and others;
b. Contents of Charterer’s voyage instructions such as tendering NOR, clausing B/Ls and Mate’s Receipts, cargo holds cleanliness, Stevedore’s damage reporting and others;
c. Reporting requirements from Charterer or Sub-Charterer;
d. Arranging pre-loading surveys for certain cargoes;
e. Lodging sea protests;
f. Handling protests from shippers, receivers and Charterers;
g. Lodging insurance claims, collecting evidence and following up until closure;
h. Pre-arrival reports required by various port states such as eNOA/D, ballast water exchange reporting and others;
- Reporting to the FM periodically on the vessels’ vetting status, planning and progress including any on-going issues if in case of any difficulties encountered that may cause rejection by either Charterers or the Pool partners operating the respective vessels.

**Authority**:

- Propose amendments, revisions to the Safety Management System to prevent recurrence of detected nonconformities to the systems and/or procedures.
- To prepare the plans and instructions for the key shipboard operations and assigning them to the qualified personnel.
- Collect reports of suggestions/complaints from customers, suppliers, vessels, etc. and formulates continuous improvement programmes to the Safety Management System.
- In the absence of Technical Superintendents, Marine Superintendent takes over his roles and responsibility accordingly.
- Other roles and responsibilities delegated by Fleet Manager.
